The chateau was built in the Renaissance style with a prism-shaped tower and a square courtyard. As early as 1332, a fortress of a burgher Menhart of Olbramovice stood on the site of the chateau. In the period of Hussite Wars, the fortress became the property of the Zbraslav monastery. At the beginning of the 18th century, the chateau was purchased by the Prague Archbishop Ferdinand, Count of Kuenburg. Since then, the building and its surrounding premises served as an economic and administrative center of the Dolní Břežany estate which became the property of Prague Archbishopric for the next 300 years and served as the economic and financial backbone of the Archdiocese. From 2016 to 2018 the Prague Archbishopric carried out a reconstruction of the complex. The result is the beautiful and exclusive grounds of a five-star hotel Château Clara Futura.
